The beaches and bays of the Shire provide the perfect location for surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, scuba diving, snorkelling and sailing.

Cronulla is soaked in surf culture and has been home to many surfing stars, including legendary world champion Mark Occhilupo. It's also the only Sydney beach that can be reached by train.

If you’re a novice, there are several surf schools that can help transform your wipe outs into winners, including Cronulla Surf School. For experienced surfers, locals can tell you about famous spots such as Shark Island.

There are also plenty of attractions for diving and snorkelling fans. With the combination of the inland waterway of Port Hacking and ocean sites off Cronulla Beach, there’s always a suitable spot in which to dive. Shore-based, boat and wreck diving allows divers to see an abundance of aquatic life, including the famous weedy sea dragon.
